Honorary Mention from the Portuguese Association of Theatre Critics I Critics Award 2010 for HÚMUS

The Portuguese Association of Theatre Critics I Critics Award

The Portuguese Association of Theatre Critics awarded the Critics Award 2011 to FIMFA and JPSCardoso. The jury members were Alexandra Moreira da Silva, João Carneiro, Maria Helena Serôdio and Rui Pina Coelho.
The same jury also decided to award three Honorary Mentions to Miguel Guilherme (O Senhor Puntila e o seu Criado Matti, Novo Grupo/Teatro Aberto), Luís Castro/KARNART (Húmus) and to the collective Mulheres Profundas / Animais Superficiais for the play As Boas Raparigas: Carla Miranda, Maria do Céu Ribeiro and Miguel Eloy.

The award ceremony took place on the 26th of March, at São Luiz Municipal Theatre Winter Garden (Lisbon).
The HONORARY MENTION was awarded to Luís Castro / Karnart (Húmus) for the brilliant and inspired theatricalisation of the universe of Raúl Brandão. The aesthetics of Perfinst were combined with a compassionate evocation of the humble who inhabit Brandão's oeuvre offset by a creative use of the various spaces of the Galeria Monumental. Luís Castro conceived – with the artistic assistance of Vel Z and a soundtrack by Adriano Filipe –a series of acts executed meticulously by the actors André Uerba, Bibi Perestrelo, Fernando Grilo, Mariana Lemos, Sara Carinhas and Vel Z exorcising beauty and pain, desire and fear, life and death in a dream-like performance.
